The YBS-82S is Yamaha’s first custom baritone saxophone model. It is designed for discerning players seeking rich tonal quality, suitable for all genres from classical to jazz. This top-of-the-line instrument offers the robust low tones characteristic of a baritone saxophone, as well as a sparkling and resonant mid to high register. Its versatility transcends the traditional role of an ensemble low-pitched instrument, enabling a range of soloistic expressions. The silver-plated finish provides a soft and warm resonance.

Key Features:

• New Bell Design: The bell length has been shortened compared to previous models, and the tone hole layout has been redesigned. This results in a rich and uniform tone across the entire range, from low to high notes.

• Redesigned Key Layout: The keys have been lightened, and new components have been introduced. Additionally, the instrument’s center of gravity has been adjusted to enhance playability and reduce hand strain, improving overall ergonomics.

• Custom Neck BC1: The BC1 neck is known for its quick response, producing sound promptly when air is blown through. It delivers a crisp and focused tone that players can easily control. Optional custom necks are available for further personalization according to player preferences.

• Detachable New Peg: A newly designed lightweight peg and peg receiver have been adopted. The detachable peg minimizes any impact on the instrument’s tonal quality.
